For almost 14 years, Sloan's audiences around the world have wondered, "who's that un-lit bearded character in the back singing all the hard parts?" Well, wonder no more.
His name is Gregory Macdonald and he's not just Sloan's musical director, friend, sometimes producer, arranger, great singer, and occasional unlicensed therapist, he's also a pretty good keyboard player.
In spite of this, on May 20th of this year Gregory's debut solo synth album will be released on Sloan's own murderecords imprint.

Gregory's new album is called COLA WARS, and it is a 40 minute study of a minimalist instrumental analog modular synth ambient spacerock landscape.
It was recorded using only synthesizers, no samples, MIDI, microphones or acoustic instruments were used on the album. Filling both sides of a 12" LP with only 3 songs, (the first of which is over 20 mintues long) the album is "a wormhole to the planetarium within" according to a minimalist instrumental analog modular synth ambient spacerock expert.
Sloan's Chris Murphy was observed saying "I can't dance to this."
The COLA WARS LP is beautifully packaged and pressed on special translucent cola-colored 180g heavy duty vinyl. Limited edition of 300.
Gregory's CV includes performing live and / or recording with not just Sloan, but also Butch Walker, Twink, Hot Hot Heat, The Kids In The Hall, 54-40, The Odds, Buffy Ste. Marie, Sam Roberts,
